We were delighted to attend the Futures Exhibition at The Blue Coat School in Oldham, Greater Manchester, where Head of Operations, Michael Simcoe and Head of Digital Marketing, Andrew Flynn had the opportunity to engage with the next generation of talent.
The event, designed for Years 10, 11, and 12 students, provided a platform for young people to explore the career opportunities and pathways available beyond education and sixth form.
We were among a diverse range of businesses from various industries invited to exhibit, offering students the chance to ask questions about different career paths, the roles available in the eCommerce and technology sectors, and the qualifications that may be required.
With around 800 students in attendance, the event was a great success, fostering insightful discussions and sparking curiosity about the digital commerce landscape.
Mike and Andy were on hand to share their expertise, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of a software business and highlighting the wide variety of roles within the industry.
“It was fantastic to see how engaged and inquisitive the students were,” said Andrew Flynn. “The nature of their questions really impressed me—there’s clearly a lot of bright talent coming through. Having had a unique career path myself, moving from university to an apprenticeship mid-degree, it was great to share my experience and hopefully provide valuable insight. A big thank you to The Blue Coat School for the warm welcome and to all the students who took the time to chat with us.”
We would also like to extend our thanks to our hardware partners, ADVANTECH-AURES UK, for generously providing giveaways on the day.
